The Lake Geneva City Council’s recent decision to allow Muck-Suck, a 20-mile race along the narrow Shore Path on May 28th, is a slap in the face to our community and organizations that work so hard to preserve Geneva Lake and the communities that surround it.
The City Council should be collaborating with the public when exploring event proposals. Instead, our elected officials made this decision without any public notice or opportunities to voice concerns.
I believe the City Council should work with race organizers to seek an alternative route for Muck-Suck for the following reasons:
Residents have fought to stop these types of events before, and we will fight again to protect our communities from exploitation.
I stand with Care for Lake Geneva in asking the Lake Geneva City Council to show respect for landowners and our beautiful, yet fragile, lakeside properties. Find a different route for Muck-Suck 2017.
